Abstract With the increase in population, there is a continuous increase in th e number of vehicles on the road. This increase in the num ber of vehicles also increases the chances of congestion at the road intersections which harms the normal traffic flow on road. Hence, to tackle the problem of road congestion at intersections a flyover must be built with proper designing. A Flyover can reduce the density of the traffic at the intersections by deviating the vehicles to the Flyover Road from the intersection area, under the flyove r. This paper explores the designing procedures of Intersection and Flyover Road using the AutoCAD Civil 3D software. The AutoCAD Civil 3D software is used by the civil engineer professionals in the planning and designing of their projects. Th is software plays a very vital role in the designing process as it gives a 3D perspective vie w to the viewer which helps in a better understanding of the project. By using different features of the AutoCAD CIVIL3D software we can generate the total cut fill, Volume Report Sheets, etc. The motive of designing of the flyover Road using the software AutoCAD Civil 3D is to get the maximum efficiency in the flow of the traffic by the use of accurate geom etric design standard s in a short duration of time. Keywords Flyover Road, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Road Intersection, Cutting and Filling Report, Volume Report I NTRODUCTION The highways are c onstructed w ith a m otive t o provide co mfort, safety t o the ro ad users and fl uent movement o f the vehicles on the road. But i n the m odern world, two things are i ncreasing in parallel i.e. This increase in t he number o f vehicles in creases the t raffic d ensity o n t he ro ads which resul ts in t he road congestion at the intersections. Road congestion has a very negat ive impact on normal traffic flow. ![]() ![]() This pro ject deals with the des igning of a flyover road above two intersecting National Highways. There are mainly t wo str uctures that help in crossing o ver any o bstacle for t he safe movement i.e. Br idges and Flyovers. Even t he purposes of both the structures are the same but then also there is a difference between them. The d ifference between Bridge and Fl yover is t hat a bridge is co nstructed to cro ss o ver any water body like a vall ey, river, sea, etc. Bri dge a nd flyovers are structures providing passage over an obstacle without closing the way b eneath. The co nstruction of the flyover over the in tersection will provide long-lasting benefits to the road users in a way by reducing the traffic congestion at the intersection and also it will increase the aesthetic view. Irc : 38-1988 Guidelines For Design Of Horizontal Curves For Highways And Design Tables Manual Methods ThatThe designing process of Flyovers is a complex task whe n done by manual methods that require creativity and practicability, whereas designing a flyover us ing AutoCAD C ivil 3D so ftware helps in saving t ime and energ y which results in the completion of a pro ject o n t ime. In the fast an d co ntinuous di gitally upgrad ing wo rld, many computer software ha s been developed t o solve the pro blems occurring in different fields.
